Studying at Hereward

Our pathway approach to learning ensures that all levels are catered for and we work with you to build a programme of study to help you achieve your goals.

Courses run from Pre-Entry up to Level 3, and we offer work skills and employability programmes, including supported internships, working in partnership with regional and national employers.

For more complex learning needs, our Learning for Life sensory curriculum is for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Foundation Plus and Aspire offer individualised programmes supported by highly skilled experts for learners with ASC and more complex sensory or social and emotional mental health needs.

The three main pathways (Foundation, Explorer and Discovery) are at an increasing academic or vocational/technical level and are designed to assist transition into employment.

Work programmes

Students are prepared for employment via one of four routes: Business in Action; Transition to Employment; a Supported Internship or a Supported Apprenticeship.

In our Business in Action course, skills are developed through working as a team for a charity on-site at Hereward College.

Our Transition to Employment courses develop work skills through employer visits, sector-based learning and work experience.

The college also works with leading regional employers to offer Supported Internship opportunities, where students develop employment skills working for a local employer in a range of roles with a high level of Job Coach support.

A Supported Apprenticeship enables students to develop employment skills working for a local employer as an apprentice.
