Course overview
Autism presents in many ways, and the support needs of each individual are unique. Surveys from the National Autistic Society show there is a gap in understanding of autism and the ways in which we can support autistic people and their families. If you'd like to increase your understanding of autism, this course will teach you about a range of therapeutic interventions and support available to autistic individuals and their families. This course takes an in-depth view of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including its history, diagnosis and the different ways that autism presents in individuals. Increase your understanding and learn how to provide support. Throughout this course, you will learn about conditions that commonly co-occur with autism and the treatment options available. You will also learn about safeguarding roles and responsibilities, as well as how to support autistic individuals to lead fulfilling lives.
