Campus facilities

Whatever course you are on at Hereward College, you will benefit from industry-standard equipment and facilities.

We have recreated realistic working environments with our employer partners in the hospitality and engineering sectors.

Our mini Premier Inn hotel, built by the company which refurbishes the company’s hotels across the country, comes complete with three ensuite bedrooms, a reception and a linen room – ideal for training hospitality students. Watch a film by parent company Whitbread about our mini Premier Inn here.

Engineering workshop

We have also replicated SES Engineering Services’ Prism offsite manufacturing facility in Coventry with a workshop the firm has kitted out with a state-of-the-art assembly line to help our learners develop the skills needed to enter the engineering industry. Have a look round in the film via the link button below.

For the artistic, we have our art classes, a performing arts studio and a professional music recording studio and rehearsal rooms.

If you choose a creative media course, you could be working on animation, audio and video production or creating content in our radio podcasting suite.

Chefs at Warwick Conferences regularly visit to lead cookery demonstrations in our professional kitchens for our hospitality students.

For both recreation and those studying sport, we have a full-sized sports hall and a fitness suite which includes a range of exercise machines, some of which are adapted to accommodate varying disabilities.

Learning Resource Centre

Our Learning Resource Centre has a number of learning pods and a graphics suite with staff on hand to help, and you can borrow a whole range of resources including books, laptops, headphones, microphones, cameras and assistive technology to support your learning.

We also have a range of sensory rooms for relaxation and learning and a specialist team of therapists and physiotherapists who lead physio sessions.

Food and drink

Café Mojo is a popular destination for a meal and catch-up with friends during lunch and break times  and our college shop Indigo is another firm favourite with learners buying snacks and drinks.

The college offers a range of gluten free, Halal and vegan options and meets other individual dietary requirements.

Outdoor facilities

Our 12-acre campus is a safe and pleasant place for recreation, and is a haven for wildlife.

Learners and staff share the secure grounds with four families of foxes, a badger sett and many species of birds. On sunny days many choose to sit outside to eat and chat and have a wander in the woodland area by our fishpond, also used for our forest school.

Sport is a key part of college life and learners regularly represent Hereward in football, futsal, tennis, powerchair football and Boccia tournaments.

Our sporting facilities include an outdoor multi-use games area (MUGA), which complements the full size sports hall and fitness suite.

For those who prefer hands-on outdoor learning, learners can acquire introductory trade skills in our construction workshop or cultivate their horticulture skills in our thriving plant-growing polytunnels.
