Learners at Hereward College in Coventry have benefited from additional sports equipment thanks to a £1000 grant from the General Charities of the City of Coventry.
The grant was awarded to the college’s charitable arm, Friends of Hereward, which plays a crucial role in fundraising for additional resources and activities not covered by statutory funds.
Hereward is a college for young people with disabilities and additional needs and over the past 18 months has worked with external coaches and a whole range of local sports partnership bodies to increase both the number of sporting opportunities available and also learner engagement in sports activities.
Matt Berry, Sports Activator at Hereward says:
“We are delighted to have received this extra funding towards sports equipment. Sports clubs are a crucial part of our extra-curricular activities at Hereward and it’s fantastic to be able to offer the young people at Hereward the equipment they need to participate in a whole range of sports activities.”
