Hereward rated top in national student-led review

Hereward College has been rated first in a national student review for teaching quality, work experience, employment skills and careers advice.

Catering for young people with disabilities and additional needs, the college was also ranked second for support, learning facilities and practical learning.

The yearly review is run by LOOP, a student driven review and ratings site, which benchmarked Hereward’s results against 16 other schools and colleges, across the country.

The students said:

“Teachers are understanding and take our individual needs into consideration – lessons are based on what you can do rather than what you can’t and activities are adapted so that everyone can join in – where this be for visual impairment, physical/mobility issues or any cognitive/emotional needs.”

“The college is a very warm and welcoming environment with lots of resources and equipment to help me do my best in every subject.”

“One of the best things about Hereward is the emotional support, the mentors are excellent and always here for you – you are treated more like a family here.”

Jon Clugston, Vice Principal Student Independence and Progression said:

“Student feedback is incredibly important to us at Hereward and we have worked with LOOP over the past few years to ensure we are providing exactly what our students want and need both in and out of college.

“LOOP’s approach is also invaluable to our learners as the training it provides equips them with the skills to give constructive feedback on their learning experience.”
