Hereward College recognises that volunteers are a vitally important part of the organisation. We welcome the input of volunteers as this allows us to provide more and better services to our students.
Volunteers can bring a different perspective to our work, often one that reflects the local community as well as bringing credibility to the College. A volunteer giving their time demonstrates that the work we do is of value to the local population.
Current volunteer opportunities:
Do you have some time to spare? Are you interested in changing the lives of young people with disabilities?
Then a trustee of Friends of Hereward College could be the job for you.
Friends of Hereward College is the charitable arm of Hereward College – a Further Education college based in Coventry for young people with disabilities and additional needs.
The charity actively fundraises to provide extra resources and services for Hereward students that are not covered by statutory funds. These opportunities contribute to the all-round life and learning experiences for the young people at Hereward in areas they wouldn’t normally be able to access.
Examples of current campaigns include:
- Sensory and interactive rooms for learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties
- Specialist disability bathing equipment
- Transport for external visits and trips
A general enthusiastic and proactive approach is all that we’re looking for along with a time commitment of 1 or 2 days a month. If you’d like to join our team contact Rachael Bermingham firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
