Hereward student wins gold in national skills competition

Hereward College student Callum Klapatji has won gold medal for ICT in the national finals of the World Skills Competitions at the Skills Show this weekend.

World Skills UK host a number of inclusive skills competitions at The Skills Show which enable young people with learning or physical disabilities to display their work skills and growing independence.

Callum represented the West Midlands at the competition in which he had to showcase his ICT skills against other young people from across the UK.

Callum said: “It was brilliant to be part of the competitions and I’m so proud to have won and represent the college in this way.”

Paul Cook, Principal at Hereward College said: “We are enormously proud of what Callum has achieved and the journey he has taken to get to the national finals.  These competitions are a great way for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities to really showcase their work.”
