Assessments

As a long established assessment, DSA-QAG registered centre and member of the NNAC, Hereward College Access Centre can offer independent needs assessments and advice for students referred under the Disabled Students' Allowances (DSA) scheme.

We have agreed standards in the way we handle the assessment of disabled students' needs, and are monitored to ensure we maintain those standards.

Our centre is resourced with a range of assistive technologies for demonstration, evaluation and assessment purposes. Professional and highly-trained staff are available to undertake assistive technology and learning support needs assessments, and to provide advice to students with disabilities, academic staff and other professionals. In addition, should this be required by the student, we are able to carry out home visits using an assessment tool kit.

We offer a professional and friendly assessment environment as well as training and support service to a wide client group of all ages and abilities.

The Centre's expertise encompasses all areas of disability and medical conditions, including physical and sensory impairment, mental health and specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia.

Assessments are independent of all manufacturers and suppliers of assistive technologies and equipment.

The next appointment is available in 17 working days on the 30th September 2010.
