Welcome to the Business and ICT section of our website. We offer an extensive range of full and part-time vocational qualifications for you to choose from, to gain new skills for a future in business, administration, retail and ICT industries. The Enterprise programme offers opportunities for you to explore aspects of self employment as well as developing transferable skills which are valued by employers and useful for everyday living.
If you need to improve your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills this will form part of your business or ICT course.
You will have many exciting opportunities to learn about:
- Business, administration, retail and customer service – you can learn how to identify new products and market them, practice interviewing staff, run a reception area, order stock and issue it, update the shop website, work in the shop and maintain financial accounts.
- ICT – you can develop your IT skills through full-time or part-time courses. Learn how to develop the skills to work as an IT technician, troubleshoot and meet job deadlines, maintain websites, prepare posters and leaflets, produce multimedia presentations.
- Enterprise – learn how to set up and run a business through our very successful Young Enterprise Scheme, help to organise the Christmas and Summer bazaars, work in the college shop (Indigo) , attend trade fairs to sell services and/or products, or join the garden club to grow plants to sell.
- Professional qualifications – you can study for a part-time day or evening IT course. Complete an NVQ in administration, ITQ, IT for Practitioners or Customer Service. You can learn book-keeping or accounting skills, gain a teaching award or assessor/internal verifier awards.
